Only those properties that are enabled on the Project Advanced Properties Tab appear on the Item Advanced Properties band.

Use the Advanced Properties band of the Write Questions page to set the title for the exhibits window, set enumerated options, set the shuffle response for the item, add a calculator to an item, set min and max number of responses allowed on an item, set response required, set response confirmation, and set no response confirmation for the item.

  • Click the Advanced Properties band.

Set Exhibit Title

  • Enter a Title for the Exhibit window that is part of this item.
If you specify a title text for this setting in a Display type item in the Standard Item Bank Project, and that Display type item is used as a split screen exhibit, then this text is displayed instead of the Question ID as the tab title in the Pearson VUE Test Driver.

Set Enumerated

Use the Enumerated item attribute to exclude an item from the numbering sequence in the review screen.

  • Select Yes to exclude this item from the numbering sequence in the review screen. Select No to set the item to be numbered in the review screen.

Set Shuffle Response

You can specify if the Answer Options on the item should appear in randomized order when the exam is administered.

  • Set the Shuffle response. Select Yes to enable shuffle response or select No to disable shuffle response. If Not Set is selected, shuffle response is not enabled.

Set Minimum and Maximum Response options

You can specify the minimum and maximum number of correct response options a candidate can select for an MCQ, Multiple Correct Options question.

  • Not Set = No value is exported. The default min = 1 and the default max = the number of response options on a given item.
  • # correct = The number of correct responses you listed in the item is the number of responses a candidate can select. For instance, if you have 5 responses and you selected 2 correct response options, the candidate can select a total of 2 response options for that item.

Add a Calculator to the item

Calculators can be added to an item as long as the calculator(s) have been configured in the Configuration Advanced Properties.

  1. Click the Add Calculator drop-down arrow.
  2. Select the type of calculator from the drop-down list that you want added to the question. If you select Not Set, no calculator is added to the item.

You must add a calculator to the Preview template if you want to preview an item with a calculator. See Create Exam Form Preview DT Template for details on how to add a calculator to a Preview template.
